History of Shimanto Union

This union council was established in 1997. Since Jeevannagar Union Parishad was elevated to a municipality, Shimanto Union Parishad was formed with the remaining villages. As all the villages are on the border, the Union Parishad was named Shimanto Union Parishad. Shimanto Union Parishad First Chairman Name: Shahajan Ali. The present office is located next to Haripurgram Road. West of this Union Parishad is India, East is Jibannagar Municipality, North is Union Parishad, South is Swaruppur Union Parishad of Maheshpur Upazila. 5 km from distance from Jibannagar upazila and 37 km from Chuadanga district.
